人民小学是重庆市市教委直属小学，是重庆市示范学校。自1999年建立国际部以来，已与国际上多所中、小学建立了深厚的友谊。特别是和英国莱斯特市奎恩小学，自两校于2002年3月缔结成为友好学校以来，两校师生通过互访、书信、E—mail等形式，一直保持着在文化、教育等方面的交流与合作。并为两国在小学教育领域上的互通开启了一扇友好之门。

　　莱斯特市奎恩小学校长Mr. Chris Davis 于2001年3月随英国校长代表团到我校参观。我校师生的热情、友好，学生的多才多艺给他留下了深刻的印象。为了增进彼此间的了解，2002年春天，奎恩小学的3位教师在我校做了一次为期一周的访问、交流活动。通过对我校校史的了解、各学科教学的观摩以及两国文化的交流，双方都感受到了彼此的诚意，也认识到建立友好合作关系的必要性和重要性。在英国驻重庆总领事馆和重庆市教委的大力支持和有力的推动下，我校于2002年3月与奎恩小学正式缔结成为友好学校。英国驻重庆总领事艾琳女士和重庆市教委主任欧可平先生作为官方代表，亲自参加了签字仪式。

　　2004年11月8日Mr. Chris Davis 再次带来了奎恩小学全校师生的思念和问候。从8日到15日Mr. Chris Davis作了为期一周的参观与访问。他先后参观了人民小学本部、学前部，人民（融侨）小学。他还亲自为孩子上了生动、形象的英语课和音乐课。真诚而风趣地回答了孩子们提出的问题。他，作为英国教师的一员和代表，让我们感受到了他深厚的文化底蕴和对孩子们深切的爱，更让我们强烈地感受到了他和奎恩小学师生对中国、中国文化以及对人民小学深厚的情谊，我们也将永远珍藏这分情谊。

　　至今我校国际部都存放着当时互赠的礼物，我们的孩子也保存着奎恩小学的小朋友们的书信。相信这种交流在两校之间会一直持续下去，并为中英在文化、教育领域上的交流和合作作出不断的贡献。

Communication between Queniborough Primary School and Chongqing Renmin Primary School

Chongqing Renmin Primary School is directly under Chongqing Education Commission and is a Model School in Chongqing. We have established a firm link with many foreign schools since our International Department was established in 1999, especially with Queniborough Primary School, Leicestershire. We keep in touch with each other by visit, letters and emails.
Mr. Chris Davis , the headteacher of Queniborough Primary School, firstly visited our school with the principal delegation of the U.K. on March,2001. The students and teachers in our school gave him a deeply impression. For the further understanding, three teachers from  Queniborough Primary School visited us for a week in the spring , 2002. During the visiting, we realized the significance of cooperation, so we signed an agreement of linking partnership with each other. Ms. Alien, former Consul general of the British Consulate-General and Mr. Ou Kepin, Director of Chongqing Education Commission attended the signature ceremony.
Mr. Chris Davis came to our school for a one-week visit on 8th November,2004. He visited Renmin Primary school, Preschool and Renmin (Rongqiao) Primary School. He also presented us a vivid English lesson and a music lesson. His humorous answers with deeply love to our children impressed us. Above all, his love to Renmin Primary School, Chinese culture and China will be cherished by us forever.
We still keep the presents given by Queniborough Primary School . The children in our school still reserve the letters from them. We do believe these two schools will have further communication and we will also make constant contribution for the cooperation between U.K and China .
